The organisers (Cultural Performing Arts Committee) of the Festival would like to share some of the comments that they received:
' To the Arts Festival Committee, the Staff and all the children involved'
Thank you for the wonderful Arts Festival this weekend. I was so impressed by the whole Festival:
- the amazing printed programme
- the diversity of the programme (something for everyone!)
- the quality of the productions
- how many people/children were involved
- the wonderful guest artists
There was such a festive atmosphere in the school - a real buzz. But also the lovely relaxed feel of lunch under the trees, listening to the PE Jazz band.
I think it was an incredible and brave project to embark on - especially with such a young school - but it worked!!
Thank you! I look forward to next year's Arts Festival!
'Well done on an EXCELLENT first Arts Festival!'
Dear Festival Organizers
Thank you for organizing such a FANTASTIC Arts Festival this last weekend.
We were so impressed. The food was delicious and our children enjoyed all
the workshops and concerts so much, particularly the fire throwers and the
James Grace guitar performances. It was the first time that the kids from
the whole school could participate in hip-hop, martial arts, ballroom dance,
painting and sculpture workshops as well as watch all those shows for FREE!!
The drama, art and music departments in the high school seem to be doing
amazing and avant-garde work.
We hope that this vibrant force will stay alive, and it was great for us to see what is going on in the rest of the school, particularly the high school, as we parents in the Infants Department sometimes feel a bit cut off from the rest. In fact, we were
surprised to see so few parents there, especially from the Junior School,
but perhaps many of them did not know enough about it. It was truly a mini
Harare International Festival of the Arts, and hopefully we can carry this
initiative forward, as in the future, it could become a wonderful and unique
way to involve everyone who wants to support the school. Thank you whoever
organized it.
'The festival gave me so much inspiration; I am proud and glad to have been part of it.'
