The Harare & District Community

The Harare & District Hellenic Community (HDHC) is administered by a council of ten members of the community who are democratically voted onto the council at the annual general meeting. The responsibilities and goals of the Administrative Council are in accordance with the constitution and its vision.

The Vision

To pro-actively promote, uphold and preserve our diverse Hellenic Culture, Religion and Community Values.

This will be achieved through the recognition and strengthening of the four pillars of our Community.

Our Church

To provide for the all embracing spiritual needs of our community through the teachings and studies of our orthodox faith, religious exposure and religious interaction amongst fellow Hellenes.

Our Community

To nurture and preserve our ancient and enduring Culture, History and Language, and to ensure the long term viability and safeguarding of Community Assets.

Archbishop George

Our People

To serve and protect the people of our community with passion and commitment through the provision of planned and sustained welfare activities, medical assistance, education and overall adequate social services.

Our School

To provide an enabling environment conducive to the professional and determined provision of quality education for children of both the Hellenic community and our fellow Phil-Hellenes. Our school will include education on our history, culture, religion and language.

In all of our activities and focus areas, we will take cognizance of the society in which we live.
